You are invited to attend a public Science Forum on Solidification & Stabilization (S/S), hosted by Nova Scotia Environment and Labour (NSEL) at the Lord Nelson hotel in Halifax, on Wednesday August 29, 2007.

S/S will be used at the Sydney Tar Ponds and Coke Ovens clean up project over the next seven years. The S/S forum will provide an opportunity to demonstrate and learn from projects that have been completed throughout the world and enable participants to apply that knowledge not only to the Sydney Tar Ponds project, but to other similar reclamation and remediation applications of the technology throughout the Atlantic region and beyond.

Please download the invitation and preliminary agenda (below) for details. Information is also posted on our website http://www.gov.ns.ca/enla/contaminatedsites/forum/SSforum.asp which will be up and running shortly.

The forum is sponsored by the Department's Competitiveness and Compliance Initiative (CCI). Seating will be limited so ensure you register early.

A block of rooms are set aside for your convenience at the Lord Nelson for the nights of August 28 and 29. Please contact the Lord Nelson and make required accommodation arrangements (not paid for by the conference sponsor).
